The Christmas bubble exemption thing is just making me want to weep with frustration – I would honestly prefer being stuck in Tier 3 until next year. It's hugely irresponsible and has passed the buck to the general public about what to prioritise.

I want to see my family, but don't think it's safe (or ethical) for us to gather and put others at risk. By allowing it for these five days I'm now being forced to choose between upsetting my family by staying away, or risk infecting others.

Allowing people to gather for Christmas is meant to improve the mental health of a nation stretched to breaking point, but having to wrestle with this and calculate implications is doing way more damage to mine, right now.
