Lots of local hospitality venues have signed a letter citing PHE stats showing that supermarkets are higher Covid risk than pubs/bars. I really feel for these business and I'm doing what I can to support them, but I feel like this is a really selective interpretation of the data.

Latterly I don't think it's very helpful to point out that supermarkets are allowed to open but pubs/bars aren't - this feels like a race to the bottom and nobody can seriously argue a pub should be given the same status as a food shop, surely?

Really feel for everyone in the hospitality industry because they have been messed around and left to figure this out for themselves. I urge everyone to do whatever they can to support their local indies too.
