  1. This is one of those places where progressively-enhanced JavaScript could really improve HSBC's online payment UI. You have to generate a security code to pay someone – the examples here could be dynamic based on the info I just typed above (eg. account number and amount).

      Instead I have to keep scrolling up and down to check the account number, and work out how I translate a payment amount into the 4 digits they need (then enter the whole thing into their clunky mobile app).

        Imagine how painful this must be when you're advising someone over the phone how to do it. We can use the web to make stuff like this simpler for people – why aren't they?
