Like... yes, when a relatively cheap/public way of publishing information became possible, it took centuries of censorship, oppression and control before we arrived at freedom of speech and the implications it carries. What's the point being made here? If reactionary policymakers had their way, we'd never have pens? Surely all this is really saying is that anything that fundamentally changes how we communicated must be treated with caution and careful thought. Just inventing it isn't enough.

These people just want to live on a big island where anyone can do whatever they want without any consideration or accountability don't they
