Like... the Beatles were barely together for a decade and in that limited period they reinvented popular music multiple times (let alone their own "sound"). By the end of the 60s they had pushed this to its limits and were unable to continue.Permalink On twitter.com

If they'd somehow forced another five years it would've been more like Abbey Road, eg. the sound of four estranged individuals chafing against one another. The outpouring of solo material from 1970 onwards shows how trapped they all felt at the end of the Beatles.Permalink On twitter.com
