@spiraltastic I recently replaced a broken hifi amplifier with a cheap pre-amp (£30ish) and a set of speakers with aux in (about £90) and then used my existing turntable nicely. Gives you more options than the ones with built-in amps/speakers etc and you might have some bits already.
