@Aendrew Cmd+D mutes/unmutes, that's quicker for me than showing the icon etc. The thing that drives *me* crazy on Hangouts is when that overlay bar covers the names of the people at the bottom of the screen. I don't always know everyone in a call and then I can't see who they are...
