      @DeadpanMarc Right, but Swift was writing at a time when you had to buy his book (presumably knowing it was satirical, like people buying Private Eye today, or figuring it out as you went along). The risks today of a tossed-off fake being later re-shared as real/fact are massive IMO.

    @DeadpanMarc I'm not saying satire should be bowdlerised or labelled as such. But I have concerns about a subsection of arch, in-joke Twitter churning out stuff like this that's funny to anyone who gets the meme but will inevitably end up on some closed Facebook group and taken as fact.
