      @DeadpanMarc In fairness I think stuff like this is massively unhelpful for whatever side or faction its author is meant to be supporting or promoting. This stuff gets spread so easily that to some audiences it becomes "fact" and eventually gets quoted verbatim as something the Guardian wrote

    @DeadpanMarc Clearly the Putin stuff is a bit much but I totally get why the journalist in the byline is concerned about it. Also.. It's not even funny. Private Eye have been doing spoof news articles like this for longer than we've been alive and they're written by blokes nearing retirement
